Mid-Term Examination Schedule 2009-2010 School Year

In compliance with the Chapter Four Curriculum Regulations set forth by the Department of Education, West Side Career & Technology Center will be administering Mid-Term and Final Examinations as mandated by our local assessment plan.

The examinations are scheduled for January 12, 13, 14 and 15, 2010. We will be operating on a special schedule during the exams and dismissal will be at noon each day during the exam schedule. In the event of a snow day, exams scheduled for that day will take place the following examination day. Should weather necessitate a delayed start on a scheduled exam day, there will not be an early dismissal on that date; rather, we will have a regular dismissal time of 2:49. Students will be notified of any changes in the exam schedule via our pa system.

Juniors and seniors will take their academic exams on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 12th and 13th. Career and technical exams for juniors and seniors will be on Thursday and Friday January 14th and 15th. Freshmen and sophomores will take their career and technical exams on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 12th and 13th. Academic exams for freshmen and sophomore students will be on Thursday and Friday, January 14th and 15th. Part time students who are scheduled in the p.m. need not report on January 12, 13, 14 (Jan. 15th is a scheduled Act 80 Day.) They will take their program exam on January 11th. Part-time students who are scheduled in the morning will report as scheduled.

Any student who is absent (for medical reasons substantiated by a medical excuse from a physician) during the exams will have until January 20th to take a make-up exam. Any student who fails to complete their exams by January 21st. will receive an incomplete for the exam grade. The incomplete must be made-up by January 25th or the instructor will replace the incomplete with a zero.

It is the responsibility of all students to schedule make-up exams with the appropriate instructor. Instructors will be available during the afternoons on January 13, 14, and 15th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for make-up exams.

Students from Dallas School District are reminded that they will follow the alternate bus transportation routes for P.M. dismissal on the dates of the exams.
